Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy

Multicultural Marketing and Management (MMM) is a small, independent research consultancy with a long history of working respectfully with diverse communities across Australia. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach reflects our commitment to ethical practice, fair treatment of people, and positive social impact. While we operate on a small scale, our values are deeply embedded in how we work, who we employ, and the communities we support.

1. Fair and ethical employment

MMM is committed to maintaining a workplace that is safe, inclusive, and respectful. Our employment practices include:

  • Fair wages for all staff, contractors, and consultants, aligned with their skills and experience.
  • Merit‑based, nondiscriminatory recruitment, with equal opportunity regardless of gender, age, cultural background, disability, or other personal attributes.
  • Flexible working arrangements to support staff wellbeing and diverse personal circumstances.
  • Culturally competent work practices, reflecting our long-standing engagement with CALD, vulnerable and marginalised communities.

2. Long‑term community contribution

For more than 20 years, MMM has supported organisations that deliver meaningful social and humanitarian impact. Our ongoing charitable contributions include:

  • The Fred Hollows Foundation
  • Oxfam
  • Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)

These partnerships reflect our belief in supporting health equity, poverty reduction, and emergency medical care in Australia and globally.

3. Ethical research and respectful engagement

As a research organisation, we uphold high standards of ethical conduct:

  • Informed consent, privacy protection, and participant welfare in all research activities.
  • Respectful engagement with CALD, vulnerable and marginalised communities, including the use of culturally appropriate materials and experienced consultants.
  • Adherence to The Research Society Code of Professional Behaviour, ensuring integrity, transparency, and responsible data handling.

4. Responsible business operations

Our operational model is designed to minimise environmental and social impact:

  • Digital‑first workflows to reduce paper use and waste.
  • Public transport as the default for staff travel.
  • Energy‑efficient office practices, including switching off lights, air‑conditioning, and equipment when not in use.
  • Ethical procurement, favouring suppliers who demonstrate responsible labour and business practices.

5. Continuous improvement

MMM reviews its CSR commitments annually as part of operational planning. We look for opportunities to:

  • Strengthen our support for community organisations.
  • Enhance diversity and inclusion in our workforce and research practices.
  • Improve ethical and sustainable operations across all projects.
